The Foresters lodge has its own unique style amongst holiday lodges, from the moment you see its full wood-clad exterior you know it’s something special.

Enter the holiday lodge and you’re greeted by the boot and coats room, not quite a full-sized room but plenty of space for two people to get attired for the great outdoors in comfort. A tartan-upholstered bench is the feature of the boot room and is backed by grey wood, affixed with hanging points for your coats, hats, and other outdoor sundries.

Directly ahead of the main door is the bathroom, where the modernity starts. Cool grey tiling, matte grey cupboards, and a deep high gloss sink create a spectacular bathroom.

To the left, well, it’s difficult to miss the huge open plan living space that is the Foresters’ lounge and kitchen. Continuing the countryside lodge theme with tartan-style Roman blinds and curtains, not to mention the fabulous cushions, it’s a stunning room to look at and be in.

To the left again is the L-shaped kitchen. An island breakfast bar adds yet more surface space to this already large kitchen. And don’t think that, because it has a rustic style, it may be lacking in any modern essentials. A five-burner hob, fitted oven, dishwasher, microwave, and deep ceramic Belfast-style sink cover all those bases.

The kitchen cupboards are finished in a soft light grey and the handles are a brushed grey steel. The breakfast bar features two bar stools; wood and industrial metal design working in harmony.

The dining table sits at the front of the Foresters lodge, next to the patio doors, and is as well-styled as the rest of the room. Wood tops and tartan seats add comfort to the eye as well as in their use.

The lounge is centred around a large fireplace with a log burner effect fire. The toffee-coloured upholstery perfectly contrasts with the cool greys of the walls. There’s also a tartan armchair and footstool that invite you to take cosying up in front of the fire to the next level.

The lounge and kitchen area have skylights and full-length, floor-to-ceiling windows at the front, making sure that even on a grey day, the Foresters lodge is light, open and bright.

Walls are an eggshell green and the roof is finished in oak panelling, complete with beams running the entire width of the home.

The second bedroom has two single beds, with tartan bed heads and sashes, a full-length wardrobe and a bedside cabinet.

2021 Prestige Foresters lodge master bedroom

The Foresters master bedroom is a creation of rustic beauty. The walls are varying shades of soft grey and the huge bedhead has subtle tartan stylings with riveting around the edge. The storage arrangements in here include two bedside cabinets, a dressing table, a large chest of drawers, and an amply sized wardrobe, more than enough for one’s tweed collection!

Next to the master bedroom is the en-suite shower room with a large towel radiator and a very large shower, complete with rainfall shower rose.

Clever colour combinations of subtle greys, eggshell greens, tartan, and wood make the Foresters a modern take on the classic country lodge style. If you like something with a bit more substance than subtle whites when it comes to furnishings, then the Foresters lodge is definitely worth a look.

Verdict: It’s very clear that a lot of thought and design has gone into the Foresters lodge; it’s those little details that make this holiday home that little bit more special than some others.

All the modern features you would expect in a new home, but with a timeless country shooting lodge style.

Plus points: A truly stunning lounge / kitchen area. Abounding with light from the floor to ceiling windows. Every detail has been superbly finished, from curtains to cushions to coat hooks.

Minus points: If you’re not a fan of tartan-style fabric schemes, this holiday home probably won’t appeal. But Prestige Homeseeker offers other fabric options.

In a nutshell: The Foresters lodge is a unique holiday home, with all the charm of a highland lodge and all the modernity of a new home.
