2021 Willerby Manor static caravan

The name immediately raises expectations of something with a suggestion of grandeur. There’s nothing ostentatious or ornate about the Willerby Manor, though. Yet you won’t be disappointed in this Manor’s style or its comfort. This is a holiday caravan that makes an instant statement of sumptuous lounge comfort and quality everywhere. The surprise, though, is that its price-point is well within what might be termed the affordability range.

The Willerby Manor was initially launched in 2019 as a special edition holiday caravan made for specific parks. It gained popularity among buyers quickly, so became part of Willerby’s standard range in 2021. It’s one of many holiday caravans on display at Willerby’s showground near to its factory in Hull; that’s where we went to carry out this review.

So, the details. You step into the kitchen dining area of the Willerby Manor caravan and one of the first things you notice is the enormous five-burner hob with wide oven and grill beneath it. Then you notice the sink and drainer.

Not steel, as you find in many holiday caravans, but a matt grey composite construction of obvious quality. Floor-level spotlights built into the bases of the kitchen units and lighting under the top cabinets create a lovely ambience.

There’s a large Hotpoint microwave and a wine rack for four bottles above it.

Four lower cabinets and four drawers offer enough hideaway space. In addition, two cabinets form part of the room divider that is one of the Manor’s defining features. This creates a feeling that the kitchen function is separate from the lounge, yet the whole living area actually integrates superbly; family conviviality is guaranteed.

The kitchen work surface is worthy of comment, too; it’s a stone effect; part matt, part glossy, in a natural sort of way. The same material forms the splash-back that wraps around the entirety of the kitchen.

Four high-back, cream leather-look upholstered dining chairs are as comfortable as they are stylish. The matt black metal and burnished copper pendant light over the table looks superb.

Perhaps it’s the lounge, though, that gives the Willerby Manor its super comfort appeal. A settee of an ample size for three, an armchair, plus a smaller settee that’s perfect for two, all feel ultra-comfortable.

Cosy evenings, in front of the wall-mounted, log-effect electric fire, would be a delight.

There’s a cabinet in one corner designed for a television, with connection points behind it. Three useful, slim, low cabinets are on the wall that houses the log-effect fire and the superbly styled, thick glass, bevelled-edge mirror above it. More storage space is inside the square footstool seat. This is a superb lounge that has a truly homely vibe.

As we explore the two bedrooms, we find more style and comfort that defines the Willerby Manor. The main bedroom contains a king-size bed. The room is spacious, with wall cabinets on the bedhead wall and a dressing table, with an upholstered stool, beautifully integrated into this cabinet structure.

Bedside cabinets each have a cylindrical, satin-effect shade that’s simple in style and delightful. There’s a large wardrobe containing three shelves and three drawers, two USB ports built into the sockets on each side of the bed and a mains and aerial socket on the wall facing the bed for a wall-mounted television. A toilet and washbasin are in the en-suite; this little room also contains a towel warmer.

There’s a towel warmer in the Willerby Manor’s shower room too. And also an extractor fan.

The twin room has two USB sockets and this room also has an aerial and mains socket for a television. The wardrobe has three drawers beneath it; plus, there are cabinets flanking shelves that run above both beds.

The Willerby Manor we reviewed is the 38ft x 12ft, two-bedroom model; it’s also available as a 35ft x 12ft and the 38ft version is available with three bedrooms.

Verdict: Extreme lounge comfort, a beautifully appointed kitchen with a five-burner hob that keen cooks will relish, and a log effect focal point fire with backlit lighting. The Willerby Manor has plenty of lovely features that combine to create a holiday caravan with wow-factor. The surprise is that prices of the three Manor variants start at an affordable £38,995. Its impressive value stems from its origin as a special edition holiday caravan, with a higher specification than would be usual at this price point.

Plus points: The five-burner hob, the superbly spacious main bedroom

Minus points: The twin beds are standard static caravan width, not full domestic width. It doesn’t come with a fully galvanized chassis as standard but that is an option

In a nutshell: Plush, comfortable, with a well-designed and stylish kitchen, the Willerby Manor is a true luxury home from home.

  1. The two tall cupboards in the kitchen is that the fridge/freezer and washing machine stored

  2. I have a Willerby Manor and the fridge freezer is integrated and next to it is a cupboard with coat rack.
The microwave is slightly awkward but manageable. We had the option of a washing machine or dishwasher, which is located beneath the draining board in the kitchen.
