Green is an in-vogue colour right now – and Victory Leisure Homes’ new-for-2024 Brontë static caravan showcases this hue magnificently.
The Victory Brontë is a mid-range caravan with clean lines and modern styling. Green is used in the lounge for the media wall. It’s teamed with fawn for the curtains and dark brown for the sofa.
The 12ft-wide Brontë – named after the Brontë sisters, who found fame as poets and novelists – is available as a 35ft or 38ft holiday home with two bedrooms, or a 38ft unit with three bedrooms.
Seating is L-shaped. Alongside the seating area next to the front window is a storage area that’s almost hidden. You lift out the handleless lid to enable you to hide away toys, books etc here.
In addition, two cabinets under the television position are there to make sure the Victory Brontë holiday caravan remains tidy.
There’s a touch of Scandinavian style about the dining suite. Two of the chairs are white plastic, on wooden splayed legs that have thin black framing to link them – and this style allies them to the hairpin legs of the table and the bench seat on the other side of the table.
The U-shaped kitchen is equipped with a hob that has four burners all of different sizes, an oven, a microwave, and, of course, a fridge-freezer.
Options include a dishwasher and a Velux roof light in the kitchen, and also an electric fire for the lounge. And, just in case green isn’t to your taste, buyers can opt for ‘lava grey’ kitchen units.
The kitchen surface is a grey wood effect. The splashback that occupies the entire wall behind the hob and also the surfaces on each side of it is made of glass, in a soft pale green shade. You can clearly see the wood grain behind it, and it appears to be ridged, until you touch it and realise that it’s flat. Clever!
Green hues are also used in the Victory Brontë’s bedrooms and shower room.
The master bedroom has a king-size bed that lifts to reveal storage space under the mattress. Bedrooms have ‘dim-out’ blinds that exclude almost all daylight; perfect when you want a lie-in! Options include a Velux window in the main bedroom, to facilitate stargazing!
Storage provision in the Brontë’s main bedroom comes in the form of a suite that contains a double wardrobe, a cabinet with three shelves and three drawers beneath, and there are two more drawers in the dressing table segment.
Two mirrors, both interesting irregular curved shapes, are mounted on natural wood wall cladding. A cube stool slides under the dressing table.
The main bedroom has an en-suite toilet and washbasin.
The second bedroom has a wardrobe and two drawers and an array of shelves in the bedhead area. Mains sockets have USB ports and the shelves are ideally placed for devices on charge.
The shower room is nicely styled using the Brontë’s signature green and natural pale woodwork and the walls of the shower are finished in a very pleasant mottled grey.
Verdict: Aimed squarely at the family market, the Victory Brontë’s styling is simple, almost minimalist, and its settee is upholstered in dark grey fabric that gives the impression it’s durable and won’t pluck or show little marks. There’s enough kitchen storage space, and an extractor fan is built into the cabinets above the hob.
Plus points: The storage space created by the lift-up base of the double bed. ‘Dim-out’ blinds in the bedrooms. The clever design of the kitchen splashback
Minus points: Some buyers will expect a shower en-suite to the main bedroom. The second bedroom has limited floorspace between the twin beds
In a nutshell: The new Victory Brontë combines family practicality with on-trend green hues, a touch of Scandinavian styling, and lots of storage space. All in a 12ft wide holiday caravan.
