New twin lodge from Swift offers affordable stylish accommodation for six!
When Swift began manufacturing holiday caravans back in 2005 the company would take a little longer to hit the twin lodge market – mainly due to a shortage of factory space. The last 18 months has seen the extension of its holiday home plant to now include a dedicated twin lodge production line.
The Montreal is one of several Swift twin lodges now available.
The Swift Montreal holiday lodge is available in two layouts with two and three bedroom options.
The three bedroomed layout is our choice here being an extra foot in length and Swift’s designers have set about producing an affordable stylish twin lodge.
Mounted on a fully galvanised chassis the Swift Montreal is built to BS3632 residential specification and exterior is in a stylish grey CanExel cladding.
The interior is described as farmhouse styled and it has that rustic feel throughout with a nice modern twist.
In the lounge two settees for two and three people create a cosy seating plan, complete with a large, upholstered foot stool.
The deep twin front windows and sliding patio doors allow in natural light to flood into this lovely lounging area. For nighttime illumination, LED ceiling lights are fitted throughout.
There’s a large low level TV cabinet with drawer storage underneath in front of those settees for night’s catching up on your favourite TV programmes or watching a film.
The back of the large settee creates a natural barrier to the dining area with seating for four around a dark wooden table.
The Swift Montreal’s kitchen is L-shaped in design and offers Shaker styled units finished in grey, and blends in well with the overall mood of this lodge’s décor.
Cooking facilities includes an inbuilt microwave, an oven and grill with gas hob and extractor hood, as well as separate fridge freezer.
There’s lots of storage with plenty of cupboards and ample worktop with well placed mains sockets. The wooden kitchen worktop adds to the farmhouse styling.
Through the side entrance a hallway has a dedicated area for coats and the like with hooks, shelving above, a comfy seat and open cupboard shelving for shoes and boots. There’s also a large floor to ceiling cupboard here which houses the boiler.
The main bathroom is very roomy with a bath and shower over it, plus hand basin on top of a cabinet, and shelving and cupboard storage. It’s a bright room thanks to a large window by the bath.
The twin bedroom maximising space by configuring the single beds in an L- shape. Here there’s a trendy styled open wardrobe with twin drawers below, which also gives a feeling of space. A small dresser with stool is a nice touch.
The second bedroom is quite plain with a double bed and bedside tables at either side. It also has a walk-through wardrobe as well as an en-suite which is fitted with toilet, hand basin and a shower cubicle, with a large side window for ventilation.
The freestanding hand basin has a tablelike design beneath it with storage – similar to the main bathroom it’s spacious and modern in design and bright.
The third bedroom is spacious and also features the open-styled wardrobes with drawer storage below. These are separated by a built-in dresser with a large mirror and a padded stool.
Once again, a large side window allows for natural light and good ventilation to. It’s also worth noting that all beds in the Swift Montreal holiday lodge come with Duvalay mattresses!
Verdict: The Swift Montreal holiday lodge is designed for growing families and with its spacious layout it ticks all the boxes. We liked the exterior look and the overall fit and finish inside.
The large lounge is comfortable and large windows throughout allow in a good amount of natural light too. The kitchen has great storage and is well-equipped. Some folk might not like the “open styled wardrobes” with their clothes on full display.
Plus points: Good build quality, two settees, new practical floor covering in the kitchen and dining areas, Duvalay mattresses on all beds, built to residential specification.
Minus points: Open style wardrobes might not be everyone’s cup of tea, no dishwasher fitted as standard.
In a nutshell: Swift makes few mistakes in their products overall and the Montreal twin lodge certainly keeps up this tradition.
