The first impression of the new Swift Morlaix lodge is its vast amount of seating capacity, both in the lounge and the huge dining area. Eight can sit in both areas. So, instantly, this lodge can be labelled as ideal for entertaining. Now for the details…
Two styles of seating surround the large dining table. That’s an L-shaped arrangement of upholstered seating with an array of large square cushions, plus two mid-green bolster style cushions; super comfortable.
Three chairs complete the seating: that’s two along the long side of the table and one at the end. There’s a luxuriously spacious feel about this area – and a distinct farmhouse character. One pointer is that the enormous table sits on two huge country-style sculpted legs. This delightful dining area is the first thing you see as you step inside the Swift Morlaix lodge via the side door.
In this video, we take a walk around the all-new 2026 Swift Morlaix holiday lodge:
Then your eyes take you beyond the dining area, to the lounge, where you find the seating for eight is supplied by a generously proportioned L-shaped sofa, laden with cushions, ample in size to seat six. And the other two? If you go for one of the options on offer, you get a coffee table that hides two upholstered cube stools within its structure. Pull them out and place them anywhere and your seating for eight is complete!
The entire front wall of windows and doors, to open onto your decking, makes sure the Swift Morlaix is a bright and airy environment.
Throughout the dining and lounge area the Morlaix’s key décor characteristic is delivered in many ways. That’s it’s farmhouse styling. Cushions in fabric influenced by traditional tartan patterns, in subtle green, creams and pale browns; sage green cabinet doors and oak finish cabinet frames, further amplify the country look, completed by handles finished in a metal pewter-look, some small circular, others with elegant, twisted sections in the centre.
The wall on which your television would be mounted makes its contribution to the décor, too. It has a simply styled, matt mid-brown panel set on a textured darker brown wall covering. Curtain tiebacks to the front curtains are simple pewter-finish curves.
Now to the all-important hub of the Swift Morlaix holiday lodge: its kitchen. Sage green and oak-finish mingles here also, to lovely effect. Practicalities are here in no small measure, in terms of good storage capacity; three lower cabinets and five upper cabinets, plus, of course, the fridge freezer, which sits opposite the main kitchen area, alongside the door.
Options fitted to our review Morlaix are the washing machine and dishwasher. There’s a nice refinement in the form of a five-position vertical wine rack. And the worksurface is arranged in three areas, meaning that three people could take part in food prep activities at the same time. Proper family capability.
The air of quality and luxury that got our attention in the day area continues in the bedroom and shower zone. The main bedroom, which has a king-sized bed, features a large dressing table with drawers and a cube stool. Two wardrobes, one double and one single, make sure you’d never be short of clothes space. Plus, there’s a large shelf unit alongside them.
The dressing table has a large rectangular mirror with four shelves on each side. The same textured wall covering that is in the lounge clads the entire bedhead wall.
The twin bedroom has a reasonable sized wardrobe with two drawers beneath it and there are two cabinets and two shelves cabinet above the bed in a unit that occupies the whole width of the room.
Both rooms have the Swift Morlaix’s signature pale sage green and oak effect cabinetry.
There are two shower rooms, both with towel warmers, one en-suite to the main bedroom, and the other opposite the twin room.
Verdict: The new Swift Morlaix Lodge straddles the divide between static caravans and super-large lodges, in that it’s 14ft wide. Even though it’s not a full-fat lodge dimension of 20ft wide, it has an overarching feeling of space, especially in the dining and kitchen area. And luxury abounds, in terms of finish, fabric quality and styling.
Plus points: Eight-seater dining area. Eight-seater lounge including the stools that come as part of the optional coffee table. Towel warmers in both shower rooms. Ability to get a dishwasher and washing machine as optional extras. Domestic-sized (three-foot wide) twin beds
