As we deal with the Coronavirus pandemic, we’ve put together some important information about how this impacts your insurance and how to contact us.
Please be assured that we’re working hard to answer customer calls and emails but we’re operating with less staff than usual, so you might experience longer than usual wait times. Please bear with us.
For any urgent queries, such as changes to your policy, please call us on 01422 396770. Don’t forget to check our website for opening times as these might change as the Government Coronavirus advice evolves.
You might also find an answer to your query in our FAQs section, which we’re continually updating.
If your enquiry is not urgent and you’re able to wait, please email firstname.lastname@example.org, quoting your policy number, name and postcode and the reason for your contact or change. We plan to manage these enquiries when the phone lines are less busy or potentially out of normal office hours.
Our website can be used to get a new static caravan or holiday lodge insurance quote and set up a policy. You can of course still call us if you have any questions not answered on the help text during the quote or FAQs.
If you don’t need to make any changes to your policy and are happy to pay for your annual premium, you can renew your policy online here.
If you pay by monthly Direct Debit, your policy will continue automatically unless you tell us otherwise. You would normally need to review the value of your holiday caravan each year but in light of the current situation we will honour up to a 10% increase on your sums insured limit should you need to make a claim in the next policy year.
If you need to contact us urgently to make a change to your policy, please do call us on 01422 396770. If you’re able to wait, we’d be grateful if you could email us rather than calling. The address is email@example.com. Please include your policy number, name and postcode, along with details of the change you’d like to make, so we can get back to you when our phone lines are less busy.
Registering a claim
If you have any minor damage to your property and it’s secure and watertight, or any other non-urgent claim, you can register your claim online here. If there’s been a more serious incident and you need urgent advice, please call our claims helpine on 01422 501085.
Park closure and ground rent
Your Leisuredays policy would only reimburse you for ground rent if your holiday caravan or lodge was uninhabitable as a result of damage (e.g. as a result of a flood or fire). However, Coronavirus (COVID-19) does not cause damage to your holiday caravan directly, so, unfortunately, there’s no cover for ground rent in these circumstances.
Hiring out cancellations
Even if you have the relevant endorsement on your policy, unfortunately, you’re only covered for loss of rental income where your holiday caravan becomes uninhabitable as a result of damage that is covered by our policy (e.g. as a result of a flood or fire). Coronavirus (COVID-19) does not cause damage to your holiday caravan directly, so, unfortunately, any loss of rental income is not covered in these circumstances.
If you have a commercial insurance product with another provider, it is possible you may have ‘business interruption’ cover elsewhere.
Cancelling your policy
We would not recommend you cancel your insurance policy, even if you’ve had to change your plans or your park is closed. Leisuredays insurance protects you against other risks, such as theft, fire, storm and flood, so you still need cover in place in case the worst happens.
To minimise the risk of damage, you might want to consider asking if your park is able to carry out regular inspections of your property in your absence.
Keep your property secure
Sadly, there’ll be certain individuals who will take advantage of this current situation and might target holiday properties. Please review the security at your holiday caravan and speak to your park about any extra precautions they might be taking.
