Lindera Mini-Lodge Review

Lindera Mini-Lodge exterior

The exterior of the Lindera Mini-Lodge is a pretty standard 40ft x 14ft rectangle, with pitched roof and a small overhang to the front end elevation.

Inside, it has vaulted ceilings throughout, and the show home we examined had plank effect vinyl in all the rooms, including the bedrooms, in the continental fashion.

The walls are tongue and groove-style MDF, the ceilings painted white and the walls a restful, warm grey. Papered plywood walls are available as an alternative.

The L-shaped kitchen in the Lindera

The L-shaped kitchen is self-contained and a four-burner gas hob sits on the shorter leg of the L, to the right, with a single oven/grill below and a steel splashback behind rising to an integrated extractor hood.

Either side of the oven are cupboards – and the one to the left, in the corner, actually turns out to have double doors, a useful arrangement that allows much easier access to the corner storage space. There are also two narrow wall cupboards either side of the extractor, and a larger one in the corner.

The longer leg of the L has an 11/2 bowl stainless steel sink and drainer with a lever operated mixer tap and workspace either side – the worktops are black marble effect.

The Mini-Lodge's lounge-diner

From the kitchen, an open doorway leads to the lounge/diner. This is simply furnished as standard, with – in this show home – a rectangular wooden dining table and four black leather-upholstered dining chairs, a narrow wicker storage drawer unit in the corner, a deep pile rug and an attractive, abstract wall clock.

The sofa is a free-standing, two-piece corner unit in brown distressed leather and there’s a feature fireplace with a black and brushed chrome electric fire, dressed with shell and pebble decoration. There’s a TV aerial point and power socket above the fire.

At the end of the hall, you will find a master bedroom which, although not huge, has sufficient walk-round space.

The main bedroom in the Lindera Mini-Lodge

The double bed has two-drawer cabinets either side, with double power points and switches for the circular ceiling light. There’s another double power point on the wall opposite the end of the bed and a fitted wardrobe.

There’s a good-sized en suite with a spacious shower with sliding glass doors.

Also like the bathroom, there is specialist, low-maintenance, marble-style wet wall panelling, though it is not fitted to ceiling height here.

The family bathroom is through a door on the left as you enter the kitchen from the entrance hall. It’s a comfortable size, with a white gloss vanity unit with lever operated mixer taps.

It has marble effect wet wall panelling, a frosted glass shelf with glass holder and glass and a mirror, above which is an attractive semi-tubular-style lamp with a shaver point cleverly hidden behind a sliding cover at one end. On the wall is a chrome ladder radiator/towel dryer and there is a circular ceiling light.

The full-size bath is fitted with a lever-operated mixer, a hand-held shower head and a hinged glass shower screen.

The second bedroom had twin beds but could easily accommodate a double.

Verdict:

The Lindera mini-lodge combines simplicity with solidity. Customers are encouraged to specify their own individual requirements – there’s lots of room for personal touches.
