Regal Autograph Mk 3 static caravan review

Exterior of Regal Autograph MK3

The Autograph from Regal Holiday Homes has been given a fresh new interior for 2012, with PVCu double glazed French doors leading to a spacious living area one can’t help but be impressed by.

Frence doors to the lounge

The doors are framed by full length curtains with wide vertical stripes and the colours are reflected in the freestanding accent armchair and scatter cushions on the four seat sofa, which has a matching footstool.

Lounge and dining-area

The focal point of the room is the remote control flame effect electric fire.

The kitchen is U shaped with high gloss cappuccino coloured doors to the base and split-level wall units; the latter have interior feature lighting. All the cupboards and doors are soft close. Extra light flows into the kitchen from the Velux window.

The kitchen equipment list is also impressive with a five burner gas cooker, oven and grill with a curved glass extractor hood, a fridge-freezer, 1½ bowl stainless steel sink and drainer complemented by plenty of work space and two wine racks!

The dining area comes complete with four chairs and a free standing dining table. Central heating is standard and a Worcester boiler is fitted for the purpose. A useful storage cupboard by the side door is a welcome sight.

Dining and kitchen

The comfort and finish level extends to the master bedroom where the green highlight colour looked absolutely fantastic, with the luxurious padded headboard in the same fabric as the curtains, down lighters for mood lighting, scatter cushions, a walk-in wardrobe, and high gloss furniture doors. There’s enough storage space for those who don’t travel light and an en-suite with a washbasin and lavatory; a shower could be added with just some loss of space in the walk-in wardrobe.

Double bedroom with ensuite

The second bedroom, set as a twin, didn’t lack in design or imagination either with good use made of the space available, including over bed cupboards and a set of drawers in the wardrobe. Plain green padded headboards harmonised with the curtains.

The shower room was well laid out and thought had been given to ensure enough room to dry down without banging your elbows; there is good storage thanks to two cupboards and shelves. The vinyl floor, the same as in the kitchen, is practical.

Verdict

A static caravan that’s stylish, contemporary, practical and comfortable for discerning folk with high expectations.

  1. I am looking at purchasing a 2011 model Regal Autograph that is new and sited in the Lake District.
Please would you advise regarding the comment that this model is not suitable for winter use as we planned to use it on a visiting basis during all four seasons !
    Many thanks, Kevin Burke

  2. Hi Kevin,

sorry it’s taken us a little while to get back to you, I forwarded your query to Liz King the journalist who wrote the above review to double check the facts before responding.

Basically what is said in the article is correct. The EN 1647 building standard is classed as holiday use and not residential or year round (winter) use.

Our advice would be to call Regal and ask their advice on whether they think the unit is suitable for the location and use you are suggesting.

If you were being 100% careful then for winter use you would need to choose a residential lodge or park home built to BS3632 standard.

    I hope this helps,

    Neil
