Many static caravan and lodge owners like to be able to holiday all-year round and jet off for some winter sun whilst their holiday park is closed during the cold UK months.
So, last month we asked owners if they’d be heading off abroad for some winter sun, staying at home in the UK or still using their static caravan or lodge.
Here are the results
One hundred and forty owners voted in our community poll and we were surprised to see quite an even split.
The poll results showed that nearly half of the voters would be heading off for some winter sun as 42 per cent voted yes.
However, 41 per cent said they would be staying at home in the UK – perhaps it comes down to cost or not being able to take time off work, or because their park wasn’t open?
Quite a few continue to holiday all-year round in their holiday caravan, with 14 per cent of voters telling us they would continue to use their static caravan or lodge, rather than head off for some winter sun.

our site is only open from 15 march to 31 oct as much as we would love to stay in it all year round with central heating and all mod cons, we revert to our trusty tourer caravan ironically for the winter months in UK due to having dogs but head south to somerset, but would prefer our static caravan which cost alot more – such ashame we cannot spent christmas and new year in it and invite family for a few days – dosent seem to be many sites which open all year and moving is costly once sited!
