And according to the results of our latest community poll, caravan or lodge decking is an absolute must for holiday caravanners, providing extra space and enhancing the overall look of their holiday home.<\/p>\n
Before we brought you our guide to holiday caravan decking we asked readers if they had decking on their static caravan or lodge.<\/p>\n
After almost 600 votes, it was an overwhelming yes to decking, with a massive 93 percent of owners having either wooden or PVC decking – and many owners saying they wouldn’t want to be without it!<\/p>\n

The yes votes were almost identical, with 47 percent telling us they had wooden decking and 46 percent with PVC decking.<\/p>\n
Only one percent of voters said they don’t like decking and a further four percent said they were considering it.<\/p>\n
Just one percent said their park didn’t allow decking.<\/p>\n
We had lots of comments about the popularity of decking and how it had improved the enjoyment of your caravan.<\/p>\n
Ken has a gated deck with steps, a walkway, and decking area outside the French doors of his Swift Ardennes caravan.<\/p>\n
He said: “Installation of our PVC decking was a major benefit to increasing the usable space of the pitch, accessed through French doors or the main side door, it allows easy access to outside entertaining or can contain pets or just to relax in the open air. It is also aesthetically pleasing especially when it complements the static caravan colour scheme. Since having it installed it has generated interest from neighbours and visitors.”<\/p>\n
Vicky told us she has had composite decking installed on their upgraded caravan.<\/p>\n
“Well worth the extra cost,” she said. “Will be great to turn up and enjoy it rather than having to repaint every year.”<\/p>\n
Dave Pogson would not “want to be without” his L-shaped uPVC decking and skirting: “It provides great extra space and not only looks good but is also easy to keep clean.”<\/p>\n
Sandra told us she has powder-coated metal railings to match her caravan with natural wood coloured composite board decking across the front and down one side of my caravan.<\/p>\n
“Love my decking,” she said. “It’s great for sitting out in the day or to watch the sun go down in the evening, and a safe place for the little one to play.”<\/p>\n
Malcolm Richards paid \u00a39,000 for his new decking and said it “was beautiful”.<\/p>\n
“The glass panels are fantastic and a wonderful feature,” he said “The composite PVC decking is easy to clean.” His only issue is the warranty.<\/p>\n
Jeannette Ashfield has wooden decking but is hoping to replace the decking boards with uPVC as the wooden ones need painting twice a year.<\/p>\n
