New Wimbledon has plenty to offer a family up to six!
New for 2020 from well established static caravan manufacturer ABI is the Wimbledon range offering value and a touch of country cottage style yet at affordable cost.
Soon approaching 50 years of being established (2022) as a major manufacturer of static caravans and lodges, ABI have over the last decade really raised the bar.
So back to the Wimbledon static caravan line up…it’s a holiday caravan that can be upgraded, which means this will increase the starter price of just below £33,000.
However the ABI Wimbledon makes a good starter static caravan and the 39ft x 12ft, three bedroomed model should have had good response from buyers. It packs a fair amount in its 39ft length including an en suite in the main bedroom.
The exterior is finished in a matt sandstone aluminium cladding and our review model had optional front French doors fitted which most folk are sure to add.
There’s no galvanised chassis as standard on the ABI Wimbledon, but it is an optional extra, and its build and looks can’t be faulted.
Stepping inside the lounge area, it does feel a little basic with a small fireplace and shelving, but there are some useful wall cupboards either side.
The L-shaped settee is opposite the dining area, and includes a small coffee table plus an easy chair, offering a cottage type feel! But we do feel storage in the lounge is limited.
The kitchen in the ABI Wimbledon looks really practical with great worktop and cupboard storage, complete with soft close doors and drawers – a nice touch.
Although a cooker with extractor is fitted, a microwave and fridge freezer are on the options list.
In the sleeping quarters of the ABI Wimbledon there are two twin bedrooms and a master suite. One of the twin bedrooms is more for children, as space is limited and storage is limited to two, wall mounted corner cupboard.
The second twin bedroom is more spacious and comes complete with full wardrobe and small dresser, plus over-the-bed cupboards.
The communal bathroom has a shower, plus loo, and a Belfast styled sink. There’s a window for light and ventilation and if you add the winter pack, a radiator too.
The master bedroom in the ABI Wimbledon has an en-suite loo and hand basin, plus large window and is compact but spacious.
The bedroom itself is quite plush, in that it the double bed lifts up for extra storage, and there are padded headboards with quaint reading lamps.
A double wardrobe with base drawers is fitted, while a neat, plain, but useful dresser, with large mirror and padded stool, completes the bedroom features.
All the bedrooms are practical, though only the smallest twin is lacking in general storage and floor area.

Verdict: ABI produce some excellent static caravans and holiday lodges and the Wimbledon is no exception. It has a country cottage feel, well-designed kitchen, plus a good sized double bedroom. Storage in the lounge might be at a premium but overall the three bedroomed ABI Wimbledon static caravan serves an ace!
Plus points: Easy upgrade winter pack, good kitchen and double bedroom.
Minus points: Limited storage in lounge area, microwave optional.
In a nutshell: The ABI is a good static caravan and one you could easily fall in love with if you add on the extras. On the whole it’s another grand slam winner from Beverley!
