Shortly after Regal Leisure Homes became a part of the giant Omar Group in 2021, the new Artisan holiday lodge was unveiled.
The Artisan had been a component of holiday caravan manufacturer Regal’s range for several years and had always proved popular, so it was a natural choice for Omar, not just to bring it into the fold, but to up-spec it, in line with Omar’s ethos.
The layout is classic, with a combined kitchen-dining area and a lounge forward of it.
The lounge furnishings in the all-new Regal Artisan lodge err on the side of traditional. The suite is a three-piece; a two-seater sofa and two armchairs with subtle wing-back shape and rounded legs with delicate carved detail. The sofa incorporates a pull-out bed.
The combined fireplace-media unit is tall, plain cream and of a simple style, housing a large log-effect fire in a black surround. There’s ample space for even the largest of televisions above it.
Two tall white radiators heat the lounge, whilst also being prominent design features. Shelves are recessed into the walls on each side of the sliding patio doors, again mixing style and practicality.
The pale wood coffee table is of an unusual design: a square top and square base, and joining the two, four offset divisions, creating shelf spaces.
The dining table is large; four chairs come as standard, and you can buy two more if you wish (that’s because the Artisan is available as a three-bedroom lodge in addition to the two-bedroom model that we reviewed). They’re high-backed, with a slight roll at the top; again, a nod to traditional styling.
A washing machine and a slimline dishwasher come as standard in the Regal Artisan’s kitchen, as does a wine cooler. The hob has five burners, set on a black glass base with cast iron pan rests. The microwave is at your eye-line, and the oven and grill are at waist height, integrated into the cabinet suite.
Four drawers and five cabinets, plus four wall cabinets together cater well for kitchen necessities. All doors and drawers have soft-close mechanisms. There are also two wine racks, each with spaces for five bottles. Plus, there are drawers and shelves above and below the microwave and oven. Altogether, kitchen storage provision is excellent in the Regal Artisan lodge.
A stylish extractor fan, composed of steel and glass, is above the hob.
The Artisan’s matt cream cabinets, pale woodwork and pale herringbone-aligned flooring create a pleasing look. The only colour is a delightful pale green for the curtains and cushions; they’re made of high-quality fabric, with a subtle sheen.
We had entered the Regal Artisan lodge through the patio doors at the front of the lounge, but we could have stepped in via the side entrance, to a hallway where there’s a tall cabinet, a shelf for your keys, a mirror and plenty of space for shoes. More of the subtle green-shade curtains, plus voiles, hang on a chunky metal pole above the door – a nice, cosy touch.
The main bedroom is luxurious, with a super-king-sized bed (1.8m x 2m) and plenty of floor space. The bedhead is upholstered in a tactile fabric in a very pale mustard shade. Curtains here are also pale green, this time with a bold fern design in shimmering gold.
There’s a dressing table with a square stool, plus bedside cabinets, each with two drawers and a large wardrobe, together creating plenty of storage space.
There’s a large mirror within the dressing table unit and a second one on a wall. This one has a gold-coloured contoured frame, making it another of the Regal Artisan’s traditional style elements. There’s a socket and aerial point for a television high up on the wall alongside the dressing table. There are double sockets plus two USB ports by each of the bedside tables, plus a socket by the dressing table; ample connectivity opportunities, then.
In the en-suite shower room, the luxury theme continues, with bright LED bulbs set into the over-basin mirror; there are 60 tiny bulbs and the light they produce is impressive.
A wall cabinet, and another beneath the basin, together provide plenty of storage for all the showering necessities.
The second bedroom’s twin beds are full domestic width (3ft) and the wardrobe is capacious, with two drawers beneath. This room has three sockets and two USB ports. It’s worth noting that in the three-bedroom Artisan, one of the twin rooms has 3ft-wide beds.
Both Regal Artisan lodge layouts are 43ft x 14ft; the three-bedroom version has two twin rooms side-by-side at the back of the lodge, with the double room forward of this area and the family shower room opposite.

Verdict: There’s a lot to like about the Regal Artisan lodge, including the large size of the dining table and the comfort of the traditional three-piece suite. All you need comes as standard, including a dishwasher and a washing machine.
Lots of nice style elements include tall radiators, a huge media-fireplace unit and the offset style of the coffee table. Keen cooks will love the five-burner hob and the waist height positioning of the oven, grill and microwave.
The skylight above the kitchen makes sure that this is a light environment. And the wine cooler, plus two wine racks, is sheer luxury!
Plus points: A super-king-size bed. Quality furniture and fabrics. A pleasing subtle colour palette. A wine cooler and two wine racks!
Minus points: None to mention
In a nutshell: A classic-layout lodge, with a combined kitchen-dining area, and plenty of comfort and storage throughout.
