Pathfinder’s Hollicombe holiday lodge has been completely re-styled for 2023, with dark green used to create a stunningly modern kitchen, and a lounge in which leather-effect mixes with dark green for a natural, countryside look.
In this walkthrough video we take a look around the 2023 Pathfinder Hollicombe holiday lodge:
We step into the new Hollicombe through the side door and we find the shower room first, to the right, a fusion of greys dominating the design, with diamond-pattern flooring, plain grey walls and pale grey floor-to-ceiling tiles in the shower. So stylish!
The shower room might be an unconventional starting point to begin a review, but it served to set the scene for what we were about to find as we explored further… This is a lodge of immense character.
Straight ahead, the corridor that runs across the Pathfinder Hollicombe lodge takes you to the twin room, with a neat dressing table complete with an upholstered cube stool, and natural wood, horizontally aligned planking that forms a super-modern headboard running across the room. There’s a lovely floor-to-ceiling window too.
In turn, the corridor takes us to the main bedroom. It’s comparatively small but, as the saying goes, perfectly formed, with a neat dressing table, and the same wood-planking headboard as in the twin room.
The en-suite to the main bedroom is similar in style to the family shower room, except that the shower is across one corner, rather than rectangular.
Out of the bedroom sector, now, we explore the Pathfinder Hollicombe’s living area and – wow!
The kitchen stretches along from the side door to culminate in an L-shape. In between, prepare to be impressed by dark green finished units with Shaker-style matt brass handles and marble worksurfaces with a prominent grey vein.
Appliances are a hob with four burners of different sizes, an oven grill, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Ten mains sockets take care of any number of toaster-and-kettle type equipment.
This is a lovely spacious and stylish kitchen, with worksurfaces in three separate areas.
The dark green theme of the kitchen continues into the adjacent dining area, in the form of vertically aligned wall panels.
Plain wooden chairs and a tabletop on a metal frame are stylishly cottagey in design. Above is a stunning light composed of six small glass spheres, each containing a bulb, and suspended on rods.
A log-effect fire sits in a white classic-style fireplace. A large sofa and armchair provide comfort, upholstered in faux leather.
What’s special about this lounge is the clever way in which it is separated from the kitchen, by a half-height wall that forms the end of the kitchen. Its effect is to make the lounge feel as if it is almost a separate room. And the vaulted roof adds to the spacious feel.
Verdict: The kitchen is generous in size both in terms of surface space and cabinet accommodation. The lounge has a real holiday vibe; cosy, yet also spacious.
We love the styling in both of the shower rooms and the amazing pendant light over the dining table.
Only the small size of the main bedroom and the lack of a wardrobe in the second bedroom might raise questions among prospective buyers of this Pathfinder Hollicombe holiday lodge that has character aplenty and style everywhere.
Plus points: Super-modern dark green kitchen and dining area feature wall. Plenty of kitchen surface space. Natural elements in the design create a welcoming feel
Minus points: The main bedroom is comparatively small
