2023 Willerby Sheraton lodge

Willerby’s Sheraton lodge offers a décor using darker wood grained furniture mixed with pinks – does it work?  

Willerby’s large line up of lodges, static caravans and park homes has something for every budget and taste, with plenty of choice. This is where the Sheraton fits in – a name that’s been around for some years.

The 2023 model range has just two layouts and here we review the 40ft x13ft two bedroomed lodge version, complete with Canexel cladding and optional French doors at the front.

The Willerby Sheraton has styling that is typical of a holiday caravan or lodge design, with full guttering, a galvanised chassis and a good selection of finishes. It can also be ordered to residential specification.

Step into the Sheraton and the choice of darker wood grain reminds you of the 1970s or 80s fashion in holiday caravans. That’s not a critical comment because the modern Sheraton mixes white panel cupboard doors to the mix, with a dash of pink curtains and scatter cushions too.

The lounge has two twin settees and a large side cabinet with good storage and even a clock! There’s a TV cabinet in the corner but an electric fire is an optional extra.

Integrated LED lighting provides the night-time illumination and there’s a lovely oval-shaped mirror at the side of the sofas.

The dining table sits behind one of those sofas and features four upholstered chairs in grey around a dining table finished with a dark wooden top.

Having the dining table in the kitchen means you’re close to whatever you need at mealtimes and the L-shaped kitchen offers plenty of worktop space, as well as a built-in microwave, fridge/freezer and four burner gas hob with oven and overhead extractor hood.

The slate grey coloured worktops contrast nicely with the light-coloured cabinets and the integrated black sink and drainer is a cool, modern touch.

Our Willerby Sheraton review model had the deluxe pack fitted, which included a washer/dryer and slimline dishwasher plus LED dedicated downlighters in the kitchen. There are enough mains sockets here for your extra appliances and any charging needs.

This two-bedroomed Sheraton has the usual twin beds and master double bedroom. Using the twin bedroom room will be great for kids but also adults too. It’s bright and airy and there’s enough room for a single wardrobe with drawers underneath, plus a large wall mirror with handy shelf underneath is by the door.

Over the twin beds there is more storage with cupboards and shelving in the same styling as the Sheraton’s living quarters. But bed users here don’t get any built-in reading lamps.

The Willerby Sheraton has two bathrooms – the main one offers a well-planned out practical design with storage under the generous-sized handbasin.

A side window adds light and ventilation while the shower cubicle is a standard size with sliding doors. It’s finished in very neutral colours with the dark wood styling appearing in here too.

Into the master bedroom and a side dressing table with a round mirror set into a dark wooden panel is a key feature, as is the shelving unit around the bedhead.

The dressing table has good cupboard storage but strangely no shelves are fitted for oddments.

The bed is king-sized (part of the upgrade pack in our review model) and it comes with a blue fabric headboard and a drawer at either side.

The Sheraton’s master bedroom has plenty of room for clothes and shoes inside its ample-sized walk-in wardrobe, with shelving storage too.

 

And the en-suite means you have your own shower and loo area.

There’s a large mirror above the hand basin, which also has cupboard storage below. Its surprisingly large because some en-suite bathrooms can be quite compact.

Verdict: Some people might be a little undecided on the Willerby Sheraton’s décor, but we think it works very well. The darker wood doors and panelling contrast nicely with the white panel cupboard doors and we liked the dusky pink curtains with matching scatter cushions. The deluxe spec pack will be an added must and we think few Sheratons will be sold without one.

Some overhead cupboards in the main bedroom would be good instead of shelves, but it’s only a minor gripe. Overall the Sheraton won our applause.

Plus points: Spacious lounge area, well-planned kitchen, colour scheme works well

Minus points: No electric fire fitted as standard and no shelves around the dressing table

In a nutshell: The Willerby Sheraton holiday lodge offers a well-planned layout, a colour scheme that’s slightly retro with its darker wood, but we liked it!
