The Acorn lodge comes under the bespoke division of Willerby, with four floorplans to choose from and the flexibility to have it adapted and designed to your needs or your plot.
We looked at a 42ft x 22ft two bedroomed version of the Willerby Acorn on display at the Great Holiday Home Show 2023.
Willerby is the largest leisure home manufacturer in the UK and Europe and through its Willerby Bespoke arm is now offering owners the opportunity to create their custom designed park home or lodge.
The latest Acorn lodge has seen some refreshing changes interior wise, keeping its appeal, but Willerby can alter things for you when you order your Acorn.
The 42ft x 22ft twin lodge we reviewed had two sets of front-opening French doors, although there is the optoin to change to sliding doors, which might be preferred so they don’t slam shut if a breeze gets up!
There’s a galvanised chassis, all the guttering is in place and a CanExel finish provides a durable weather-resistant exterior.
The Willerby Acorn lodge has a side access door into a small hallway. From here you walk into an incredibly spacious lounge which comes equipped with two large twin seater sofas finished in blue with scatter cushions that match the curtains.
There’s a fireplace centrally placed between the two French doors with fittings for a TV above.
Deep side windows allow natural light to flood in while night lighting is offered with tasteful hanging ceiling lights. A coffee table with drawer storage is finished in a light oak matching the central roof beam.
A wooden dining table for four is placed close to the entrance hall and has four padded chairs, which match with the sofas. The table is of course matching and looks very solid and has plenty of space around it.
Opposite is the kitchen complete with a practical and modern central island table which comes with two upholstered high chairs, a pop-up plug, and is illuminated by three trendy pendant lights above.
The Willerby Acorn’s kitchen is finished in a stylish navy blue, with coppery brass handles – it’s quite a simple design but contemporary and striking – and is just one of the designs from Willerby’s bespoke range.
It’s a food lovers dream with plenty of drawer storage and cupboard space, plus a good run of worktop in a gorgeous wood finish. The hob is electric, as is the separate oven and grill, which are integrated with a microwave above in their own little cooking station! LED lighting allows for concentrated lighting under the wall cupboards.
There’s an integrated fridge freezer as well as a dishwasher and washing machine. It’s a very practical and well-designed kitchen as well as looking super stylish.
Our Willerby Acorn review model had two bedrooms – a twin and a double master bedroom.
The master suite was spacious, yet feels cosy and comes complete with a walk-in wardrobe and storage room. There’s also a dresser with a large mirror above it and drawers are also fitted plus a padded stool.
The en-suite features a curved walk-in corner shower cubicle, plus a loo and handbasin on top of a wooden storage cupboard storage with the same dark blue doors as in the kitchen. There’s a large side window here too for ventilation and natural light.
From the master bedroom is the twin bedroom which has two adult single beds with a single chest of drawers at each side.
This is a spacious room with plenty of room to move around in and its size also allows a double wardrobe with drawers – ample storage for two people. There are also wall fixings for a TV to be mounted with a mains socket and aerial plug, a large side window adds to the airy feel. This is a great room for adults or children with plenty of space.
Then there’s a communal shower room which is tastefully fitted out with a square walk-in shower cubicle, toilet and similar handbasin and cupboard as in the Acorn’s en-suite.
The flooring and tiling is ultra-modern and there’s a ladder-style radiator for drying towels, as well as a stylish illuminated circular mirror.
Verdict: The Willerby Acorn lodge can be adapted to suit your own needs, or you can have it in its standard design. The 42ft x 22ft Willerby Acorn lodge that we reviewed was a customer bespoke order and we felt it offered excellent space and comfort for up to four people, as well as being well-designed.
The front lounge offers so much space and the deep windows provide a great vantage point for watching the world go by outside.
Overall, it’s a super lodge that Willerby can tailor to meet your needs and one we feel that buyers will take advantage of.
Plus points: Solid build quality, good size and easy access dining table, spacious lounge and bedrooms, bespoke design.
Minus points: Would prefer sliding patio doors, but this was a bespoke special
