Cosalt Vienna Holiday Home Review

A Viennese Dream?

Cosalt Vienna exterior

Can Cosalt’s Vienna get the thumbs up?

Cosalt can be relied upon to produce a caravan holiday home for all tastes.

The 2008 Vienna model is part of its top-end Connoisseur Collection and is a luxury holiday home, offering two or three bedrooms, each with French windows and lots of glass at the front end.

Master bedroom

The Vienna has a conventional exterior styling, but an unconventional interior layout in the living area.

It has French doors flanked either side by three-quarter height windows with sloping tops. There are three other large windows to the front side and a two-panel, fully glazed door.

Entering through the French doors, two two-seater sofas are generally positioned on either side. One of the sofas folds out into a bed providing extra space for visitors.

The interior of the Vienna

Ahead is a central column-cum-partition , taking up about a third of the width. The bottom half holds a nice, black-framed 2kW electric fire, the top is filled in with glass bricks, and there are small spotlights inset into the top of the frame. There’s also TV space above the fireplace.

The lounge area is lit by a number of single ‘ice cube’ style ceiling lights, with a floor lamp of matching design. Drapes are in beige brown with narrow horizontal red stripes, matching the sofa cushions.

Dining and kitchen are

On the other side of the dividing column is an extendable dining table with inset spots above.

Next to the front door, is a tall cabinet with two cupboards and a deep drawer, and another low, single-drawer unit. On the other side is the L-shaped kitchen, starting with a double oven with storage above and below. Floor and wall mounted storage (some above the window) continues into the corner. Circular sink and rinser are set into granite-effect worktops beneath the window, with a stylish mixer tap and dishwasher below.

On the short leg of the L are six drawers and the four-burner hob and extractor with steel splash screen behind and cup- boards either side. The fridge/freezer, is on the other side of the hall, facing the kitchen.

Living Room

This 2-bed version of the Vienna has the second bedroom first left off the hall leading from the kitchen/diner. As usual with caravan holiday homes, it’s tight for space, with twin beds, overbed storage, a single bedside cabinet, a single-door wardrobe in the corner, and a vanity shelf with mirror above.

Opposite is the bathroom, with rectangular shower, an attractive sink set onto a two-door cabinet, and with a shelf and mirror above. There are two doors, one into the hall, and one leading from the master bedroom.

Bathroom

The master bedroom is a good room, with a full-size, lift-up double, overbed storage with strip lights set into the bottom, a wardrobe with mirrored sliding doors and four drawers beneath, two two-drawer bedside cabinets and a vanity table with pedestal cupboard, stool and a wall-mounted mirror. Bedheads and drapes match those elsewhere.

Verdict:

The Vienna is an attractive, comfortable model with excellent fixtures and fittings and a relatively simple but well-thought out interior.
