Step inside the Tingdene Havana Centre Lounge lodge through one of the two double patio doors and you’re in a home-away-from-home that truly sells the dream of luxury lodge living.
This 42ft x 22ft 3in lodge is one of two Havana Centre Lounge layouts. It’s sophisticated. It’s enormous. It’s super-stylish in a truly awe-inspiring way. And it’s inviting.
This is why. As you take those first steps inside, you’re in the lounge, with two large sofas facing one another over a big coffee table in the centre of the room. Instantly you get the relaxation vibe.
Adjacent is the kitchen, bordered by a breakfast bar with two bar chairs that are made of natural wood on black frames and with a touch of industrial styling.
The breakfast bar is home to a four-zone ceramic hob with, alongside it, a heat-resistant area stylishly and simply composed of six metal bars inset to the wooden surface.
Three wide drawers, two cabinets and a wine cooler are under the breakfast bar – and the amount of storage space here gives some clue to the overall storage capacity of the kitchen. There’s a pull-out cabinet with five metal shelves, cupboards both above and below the microwave and oven-grill, and three large cabinets; that’s in addition to the fridge-freezer, of course.
A dishwasher is integrated into the cabinet suite, which is finished in smart, matt grey, with black handles that have just a touch of copper colour that catches the light from the ceiling-mounted spotlights. A gorgeous kitchen, then, and with plenty of work surface.
The dining suite is alongside; a natural wood table with inlaid pattern for added interest, and four deeply upholstered chairs that are large and comfortable.
Everything about the Havana Centre Lounge lodge is large – and that even includes the black sink and drainer, with central rinse area.
Natural wood is a defining feature of the Havana Centre Lounge. Three recessed panels on the walls of the lounge-dining-kitchen area feature horizontally aligned pieces of wood, slightly rough-hewn, so retaining natural texture, and in differing shades and differing depths; some more prominent than others. Knots, gnarls and saw marks are included. Superimposed on the pieces of wood, here and there, are small sculptured, slightly ornate scrolls, to soften the dramatic effect.
Dark grey, plain curtains with a sheen in the fabric hang over the two patio doors. This wall is dark grey, matching the curtains, for a lovely dramatic effect. The other walls are finished in cream plank-effect; some horizontally aligned, others vertical. A tall radiator is on one wall, black in finish, and adds to the dramatic sophistication of the room.
The Havana Centre Lounge lodge has a rear entrance that leads to a vestibule, with a large, full-height cabinet, a second one containing coat hooks and, between the two, a boot seat, with shelving for shoes beneath. Even this feature is larger than you’d expect.
A toilet-washbasin and utility room, housing a washer-dryer, the heating unit and two cupboards, leads off the vestibule.
Opposite is the entrance to one of the two bedrooms. It has double-opening patio doors, a king-sized bed, and matt grey furniture that includes a dressing table, plus bedside cabinets built into the bedhead wall.
The en-suite shower room is half tiled in grey wood-effect tones, above which is pale grey wood planking. As you’d expect, there is a towel warmer, in chrome.
At the other end of the lodge is another bedroom, sharing the dark grey furniture style of the main bedroom. This bed is double, rather than king size.
The shower room, though, is enormous. There’s a bath with over-bath shower, a towel warmer larger than the one in the master bedroom’s en-suite, and loads of floor space. The large mirror is set into a recess and two very bright spotlights focus down from the top of the recess. Like the shower room at the other end of the lodge, it’s half tiled and half plank-finished – and super stylish.
The Havana Centre Lounge is also available as a 45ft x 22ft lodge; this version has a different layout, with the kitchen-diner-lounge occupying the whole of one side, and the bedrooms, each with an en-suite, are behind the day area. This layout does not have a utility room.
Verdict: If you’re looking for gigantic space, fascinating style features, and a holiday lodge that provides two very separate bedrooms, take a close look at the Havana Centre Lounge lodge.
This is an expensive lodge by the time transport and park costs are added to its ex-factory price, but is every inch the high-end lodge that it looks to be at the first glance of its exterior.
Everything about it is luxurious and large – even the boot seat by the back door is twice the size of those in most holiday lodges.
Plus points: Bedrooms at each end. Space everywhere! The inbuilt heat-resistant area alongside the hob. A large amount of kitchen storage capacity.
Minus points: The price might be perceived as a negative, but you get what you pay for, and the Havana Centre Lounge is large and luxurious.
In a nutshell: Super-spacious and luxurious, the 42ft by 22ft 3in Tingdene Havana Centre Lounge lodge, with bedrooms at each end and day area in the centre, is one of Britain’s most sophisticated lodges – and clearly designed for entertaining.
