A quick glance at the exterior of the Willerby Salisbury might have you leaping to the conclusion that this is a traditional static caravan. And you’d be right. But only in terms of exterior shape.
Step inside and you immediately realise there are touches of tradition of a different sort – that’s interior design elements that are cleverly integrated to create a sophisticated and really quite special holiday caravan.
In this video, we take a walkthrough of the 2026 Willerby Salisbury static caravan…
Right away, though, the exterior of our review unit introduces you to a long list of options that enable you to personalise your Willerby Salisbury static caravan. Our review unit is clad in the Premium option, a dark brown alternative to the standard light grey finish. It looks a lot like wood and instantly allies the Salisbury with lodges rather than static caravans.
Inside the Salisbury, the elements that grab your attention are Shaker-style wall panelling and kitchen unit knobs, super-comfortable rounded dining chairs, beautiful glass globe pendant lights – and a luxurious bedroom in which first-rate storage is a keynote.
These all combine to produce a static caravan of superior style.
The lounge has a luxurious ambience, thanks to the two sumptuous sofas, upholstered in rich cream tactile fabric. They’re of a classic plain shape, with big armrests and high-back, bolster-style backrests and offer a high standard of comfort.
Curtains have a pattern with a hint of traditional influence, in a mix of intricate swirls within geometric frames, delivered in subtle pale fawn and grey on a cream background. Three of the cushions are upholstered in a subtle berry-and-twig design and three more have a wave pattern in the weave, in plain cream. If you flick all four cushions over to show the plain, dark cream velvet alternative side, you can instantly change the look of the lounge. Either way, the whole effect is classic and elegant.
Contributing to the elegant image is the circular mirror, in a bold, traditional-style ridged frame in brushed matt silver. Mirrors can be used to create great impact in interior design – and this is a fine example, in that it is one of a number of elements that give the Willerby Salisbury a strong identity, with just a touch of country house style.
Also making a contribution to that strong identity is the lighting design. Two ribbed pale amber glass lights are suspended from chrome ceiling rosettes, positioned to emphasise the area of the U-shaped kitchen that borders the lounge. Together with the natural wood part-wall here, they create a clear demarcation between the lounge and the kitchen. The function of the pale amber glass shades goes further than providing warm-hue illumination.
Two more of these stunning shades emphasise the country house-style full-height wall panelling, in matt taupe shade, that backs the television position.
Pale cream, almost white, mixes plain modern style with Shaker influence for the kitchen units, in the form of neat, circular knobs in brushed steel. And the natural wood panel that runs all of the way around the kitchen under the wall units injects a rustic look. It becomes a splashback in the area behind the hob, simply covered here with glass, so that the wood is 100% visible.
The style switches back to plain modern for the unusual colour of pale grey for the sink and drainer, and the white-with-grey-vein marble-effect surface. It’s a lovely combination.
Lighting is a feature of the Salisbury’s kitchen décor; spotlights are set into the undersides of the top cabinets on each side of the cooker and there are three bright floor level lights.
Three lower cupboards and four drawers plus four top cabinets provide plenty of storage space. A dishwasher (optional) is integrated into the cabinet suite in our review model; it’s conveniently close to the sink.
A Bosch microwave sits at the lounge side of the kitchen, its black frontage stylishly contrasting with all other elements of the kitchen.
The Bosch gas hob has cast iron pan rests. The electric oven is also by Bosch; it’s part of the optional Premium applicance pack.
While on the topic of options, our review model is fitted with the optional central heating system; the boiler is housed in a cupboard that’s first on the right as you go down the corridor towards the bedrooms.
The fridge-freezer sits in a cabinet alongside the door with, beside it, a full-height cabinet containing two coat hooks. It’s the ideal place for not just coats but shoes to hide away as you step inside.
The rounded-back dining chairs with splayed legs combine Scandi style with supreme comfort – and the brown piping edging adds to the refined elegance of the style.
Elegance is also to the fore in the super-spacious main bedroom of the Willerby Salisbury static caravan. Bedside wall lights matching those in the lounge create an instant warm ambience.
The use of natural wood in the décor, combined with plain cream for the doors to the large wardrobe, and a touch of the taupe shade used in the panelling in the lounge for the cabinet above the dressing table, add style interest.
A cylindrical stool upholstered in the same cream fabric as the lounge suite sits under the dressing table.
And this bedroom has an unusual feature – a television table, complete with a shelf beneath, on the wall opposite the bed.
Full-height windows are on each side of the television position, giving the bedroom an excellent daylight aspect, even on the dull day of our visit to the Willerby showground in Hull for this review.
A toilet and washbasin are en-suite but there’s no shower here.
The shower room is opposite the twin bedroom. Natural wood plays a role in the décor here, together with taupe, and there’s a towel warmer finished in white.
The twin room has a good-sized wardrobe with two drawers beneath the hanging space. Above the bed is a unit that provides a double-doored cabinet and four shelves. USB ports are set into mains sockets in both bedrooms. The beds are 68.5cm wide, so designed for children. (Standard single bed width is 90cm.)
In order to keep the Salisbury’s price at an eye-catchingly affordable level, central heating is an optional extra but Willerby tells us that in practice the vast majority of buyers choose to have it included.
Also on the options list are double sliding patio doors, a washer/dryer and the slimline dishwasher fitted in our review model. And buyers can opt for a fully galvanised chassis (especially important if you’re planning to have your Salisbury sited near to the coast, where salt air can cause corrosion).
Two models are available in addition to our review example – the 38ft x 12ft two-bedroom version. There’s a three-bedroom model of the same size and also a 35ft x 12ft Salisbury with two bedrooms.
Verdict: The Willerby Salisbury’s price places it only just above the starter holiday caravan region of Willerby’s range – yet its interior design, high quality upholstery fabric and touches of sophistication give the impression of a unit that’s much higher up the price echelon. Hints of Shaker style and use of taupe and classic cream create a calm, pleasing décor and a general high class ambience.
The Salisbury offers flexibility, with the option to add central heating to create your perfect year-round retreat. Simply speak with your chosen park at the time of buying to include this in the price of your quote.
Plus points: The bedroom is a spacious environment with plenty of floor space. A television table is in the bedroom. Lighting design creates impact in the lounge, kitchen and bedroom.
