Holiday park site fee costs revealed

In last month’s community poll, we asked how much you pay each year for your holiday park pitch or site fees.

With more than 800 votes in one of our most popular polls, we can now reveal the results….

The most common amount paid for park site fees was £3,000 to £4,000, with 31 percent of the votes.

And not far behind with 26 percent of the votes, was £2,000 to £3,000.

Only nine percent of voters paid more than £6,000 for their annual holiday park site fees but just over a fifth of voters (21 percent) told us they paid between £4,000 and £5,000.

All holiday parks charge these pitch or site fees and the voting shows they do vary between holiday parks, often depending on their geographical location and amount of on-site facilities. A holiday caravan or lodge pitch size and location might also affect the fees paid.

Your site fee comments

There was a range of comments from owners about the cost of the holiday park site fees they paid.

Debbie Trindle said her site had no facilities and that she thought the site fees were an “insult”. And Frances said she wished they were less!

Nigel Ridings told us there had been a £500 rise in the ground rent this year which was over the rate of Inflation and that there were no new facilities at the park.

Neil Westwell was one of the nine percent of voters who is paying just over £6,000 for his site fees in 2023 but said it was “still reasonable value given the seasonal facilities”.

Jeremey Collins bought his holiday caravan during the Coronavirus lockdown and told us his fees were nearly £7,500 for 2023.

“Just need to make sure we go to stay regularly,” he commented.

Thanks to everyone who voted.

  1. We payed £4,700 this year we have a cate on site that is closed more than it’s open, and that’s all there has to be more than the the area that were in

  2. Site fees are too expensive especially when there are no facilities how can one enjoy the much wanted vacation knowing it’s costing so much. The site owner must be a millionaire?

  3. Our site fees for 2023 are around £3.000,have a fishing lake and small shop .any entertainment we make ourselves, But the main thing is the site is well managed and looked after , nearly every day they cut the grass, but like many will try and visit more often next season

  4. We are awaiting our 2023 site fees to be published this month and expect them to go up with inflation but, what we have been told is is that we will need to pay these fees in full by the 1st March 23 instead of monthly in advance by standing order which is what we have been doing for the last five years! Can they do that?

    1. John we have always had to pay ours either in one payment or in two one in November and one in February.
