Prestige commissioned Henry Ward, a leading yacht designer, in 2014 to design a home away from home based on the principles of yacht design, creating clever uses of space and interior feel. Bringing light aplenty into the home, not only with its five roof lights – yes 5! – but also the higher ceiling at the front of the Glass House likened in style to the prow of a yacht. The lounge and kitchen area alone has 20 windows.

As you walk into the Glass House, the kitchen area is to your right and the dining table to your left. The lounge is opposite in a complete open plan design.

The lounge coffee table and side table are made of reclaimed wood, continuing the nautical theme.

Couple this with the grey and white fascias and you get a lovely warm contrast.

The kitchen has an island five-burner hob, with plenty of space either side, and lime-washed wood worktops. Also sequestered away in the island is a 24 bottle wine fridge, large enough for any vino connoisseur.

The bed headboard is a dull subtle copper hue fabric. Whites, creams, greys and fawns working in tandem to create a warm feeling with cool colours. Very clever.

Behind the headboard and “wall” of the bedroom is the dressing area, which runs the full length of the bedroom. The gloss graphite storage suite in the dressing area is perfectly neutral so no matter what your style, it will fit in perfectly in the Glass House.

There are vented slats in the border wall between the two – they serve no practical purpose but look just cool.

At the end of the dressing area is a full length window and opposite is a full length mirror. Nothing in the Glass House has been done by halves, it really is a top class holiday lodge.

Verdict: A stunning holiday home, with an enduring industrial chic and modern flourishes, the Glass House is unique. From the roman blinds in high quality cotton, to the remote-controlled skylights, everything about this park home exudes luxury yacht life.

Plus points: Designed from the bottom up to be unique and special, The Glass House is a clever and beautifully designed holiday home. One that you’d be happy to throw the doors open and show off your pride and joy to anyone.

Minus points: If you like the Prestige Glass House you are pretty much guaranteed to love it, but it could be an acquired taste, the furnishings and the style would be more difficult to adapt than other holiday homes.

In a nutshell: Designed in tandem with a leading yacht designer, the Glass House takes holiday homes to a new level. Modern with industrial chic, the Glass House rightly takes its’ place at the top of the lodge market. It’s character, design features and attention to detail make this holiday home one of the best.
