A clear majority of owners are making the most of their static caravan or lodge throughout the year, with 59% voting all year round, and the comments showing just how important that time away can be.
As Marilyn Wright puts it: “We use ours all year round. Absolutely love it.”
For many, it’s about flexibility and making the most of every opportunity. Denise said: “We use our static as much as we can throughout the year, enjoying it in all seasons.”
And for some, it’s more than just a break – it’s a lifestyle. Pam Jones explained: “It’s a way of life and we’ve enjoyed thirty years here.”
The emotional connection owners have with their holiday caravans really shines through.
For Emma P, it’s a valuable escape: “I use it as much as I can… I can get respite when I have the time off.”
While Angela Gent highlighted how accessible caravanning can be for families: “My elderly mother often comes to stay too… we all adore it!”
Others love the sense of routine and familiarity. Karen Fallon said: “Always had a caravan… It’s all I know and wouldn’t give these holidays up for anything.”

But summer still has a strong appeal, with a quarter of owners telling us they mainly used their static caravan during the summer months.
With warmer weather, longer days and family holidays, it’s still the most popular time for many to enjoy their holiday caravan or lodge.
Weekenders and flexible escapes
The results also show how popular short, regular breaks are, with 13% of owners using their caravan most weekends.
For many, it’s the perfect escape from the working week. Elizabeth commented: “I leave work Friday… come back Monday morning. It feels like I’ve had a week’s holiday.”
And Dave Mullen echoed that lifestyle: “We use our static near on every weekend… love the site, van and style of living.”
Seasonal stays still have their place
Meanwhile, smaller numbers favour spring and autumn getaways or school holiday trips, suggesting different lifestyles and commitments play a big role in how owners use their caravans or holiday lodges.
Some owners maximise their time within park seasons. Carole Burgess uses hers: “For short breaks throughout the park’s open season – 1 March to 10 Jan.”
Others prefer quieter times of year. Tricia explained: “We use our static throughout the year, trying to avoid school holidays… and enjoy the peace and quiet.”
And for many, spring through autumn remains the core holiday window, as Peter Jones describes: “From the end of March until early October – my happy place.”
