The Government have made a dramatic U-turn on their plans to introduce VAT on static caravans at 20%.
As you may already know, the Government’s latest budget revealed plans to apply VAT on static caravans and holiday homes at 20% from the 1st October 2012 – but with your help it’s not too late to stop it.
From the 1st October 2012 VAT will be applied to static caravans, which could make your next holiday home 20% more expensive to buy.
A recent Facebook poll has shown that people in the UK prefer their static caravan or holiday home to be within an hour or so drive – perhaps the saying should be “a home not too far away from home”?

A fundraising evening organised and hosted by Leisuredays has raised £650 for the National Caravan Council (NCC) Benevolent Fund, which looks after current or past members of the caravan industry who have fallen on hard times.
The recent BBC Watchdog programme about ’08’ numbers and how they can be expensive for customers to call was music to our ears. We did a lot of research in to what numbers were cheapest for customers to call and found that offering two different numbers was the best way forward.
